Terms of Service & Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 12, 2026

Welcome to HighSchoolOS. By using our website and services, you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Our Service

  • HighSchoolOS is an AI-powered college admissions counseling platform. We provide tools including an AI counselor ('Sol') to help with essays, activities, college selection, and application navigation.
  • We are not affiliated with any college, university, the Common App, or any other application platform.
  • We do not guarantee admission, scholarships, or any specific outcome.
  • Our AI tools can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or fabricated information. You are responsible for reviewing, fact-checking, and editing any AI-generated content before relying on it or submitting it anywhere.
  • Submitting AI-generated or AI-assisted content to colleges, scholarship programs, or application platforms (including the Common App) may violate their academic integrity, honor code, or content policies. It is your responsibility to understand and comply with those rules. HighSchoolOS is not liable for any consequences of your decision to submit AI-assisted content.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be 13 or older to use this service.
  • If you are under 18, you confirm you have permission from a parent/guardian.

3. Your Responsibilities

  • You agree to use HighSchoolOS lawfully and only for your own personal, educational purposes.
  • Do not attempt to copy, scrape, reverse-engineer, or misuse the service.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account secure.

4. Your Content

  • You own the content you enter (essays, answers, uploads).
  • By using the service, you grant HighSchoolOS a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, process, analyze, and use your content and the data we collect about your use of the service for any lawful business purpose, including operating, securing, personalizing, evaluating, and improving the service; conducting analytics and research; training and improving our AI models; and developing new features and products.
  • We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we never will. We will not transfer your personal data to any third party for that party's own independent marketing or commercial use.
  • The rights you grant us under this section survive deletion of your account to the extent data has already been aggregated, de-identified, or incorporated into AI training data, analytics, or backups; identifiable personal data tied to your account will be deleted on request as described in the Privacy section, subject to legal retention requirements.

5. Privacy & Data

  • We collect: name, email, profile information you enter, content you create on the platform (essays, responses, uploads), technical data (IP address, device type, browser, OS, screen resolution), and usage data (pages visited, features used, clicks, scroll depth, time on page, referrer, and UTM parameters).
  • We assign anonymous and session identifiers, and may generate a browser fingerprint, so we can recognize returning visitors, link pre-signup activity to your account, and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • We use this data to provide and personalize the service, debug issues, measure performance and feature adoption, prevent abuse, send important account updates, and send marketing communications (which you can opt out of anytime).
  • We use data from your interactions (including essays, responses, chat conversations, and usage patterns) to operate, evaluate, improve, and develop our AI models, features, and the service. Where reasonably practicable we aggregate or de-identify this data, but in some cases identifiable data may be used internally for these purposes. We do not sell this data to third parties.
  • We share data with service providers who process it on our behalf, including: Supabase (authentication, database, edge functions, first-party event analytics), Vercel (hosting, web analytics, performance monitoring), Stripe (payments), OpenAI and Anthropic (AI responses), Amazon SES (email delivery), and Cloudflare (edge security and delivery).
  • We use advertising and conversion-tracking pixels from Google (Tag Manager and Google Ads), Meta (Facebook Pixel), and Reddit so we can measure the performance of our ads and reach similar audiences. These providers may set their own cookies and collect data about your visit under their own privacy policies.
  • We do not sell your personal information for money. Some of our advertising and analytics activity may qualify as "sharing" or a "sale" under certain US state privacy laws (such as California's CPRA); residents of those states can opt out by emailing us.
  • We keep your data as long as your account is active, as needed to provide the service, or as required by law.
  • You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data anytime by contacting contact@momentumlabs.ai.

6. Payments & Refunds

  • All sales are final. We do not offer refunds for any subscriptions or services purchased through HighSchoolOS.
  • Prices are subject to change.
  • Payments are processed securely via Stripe. We do not store your credit card information.

7. Cookies & Similar Technologies

  • We use cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, and similar technologies for authentication and session management, remembering your preferences (such as theme and sidebar state), first-party analytics, fraud prevention, and advertising and conversion tracking.
  • Our advertising partners (Google, Meta, and Reddit) set their own cookies when you visit our site to measure ad performance and build audiences.
  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, parts of the service (such as login and saved preferences) may not work correctly.

8. Intellectual Property

  • The HighSchoolOS platform, code, designs, and branding are owned by us.
  • You may not copy or reproduce them without permission.

9. Disclaimers & Liability

  • The service is provided "as is."
  • We disclaim all warranties of accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months.

10. Changes

We may update these terms or our privacy practices. Updates will be posted here with a new effective date. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance (for example, by email or an in-app notice). Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the updated terms.

11. Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate your account or access to the service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these terms, engaged in fraud or abuse, created legal or security risk for us or other users, or if we are required to do so by law. We may also discontinue the service or any feature at any time.
  • You may stop using the service or delete your account at any time by contacting us. Provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive termination (including content licenses, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnification, and dispute resolution) will continue to apply after your account ends.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless HighSchoolOS and its officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the service; (b) your content or any content you submit using HighSchoolOS; (c) your violation of these terms or any applicable law; or (d) your violation of any third party's rights, including any college's, application platform's, or scholarship program's academic integrity or content policies.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

  • These terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the service are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
  • Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these terms or the service must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, you and HighSchoolOS each waive the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative action against the other. Disputes must be brought on an individual basis only.
